Can You Hear Your Body?

Distance Early Warning Radar

The Distant Early Warning Line was a system of 63 radar and communication systems stretching 3,000 miles within the Arctic Circle from Alaska to the eastern shore of Canada.

During the Cold War, it was designed to detect incoming missiles from the Soviet Union, giving Canada and the United States an early warning of an attack.

Do you have an early warning system?

One of the characteristics of the healthiest people we know is the ability to detect the most subtle signals their bodies send them. Are you able to discern the smallest changes in your body from the foods you eat, your reaction to certain stresses, digestion, elimination, rest, energy levels and countless other bodily processes?

Certainly the first step is detection. But then we must act. Appropriate action could be as simple as changing our diet to calling an ambulance and everything in between. How much discomfort does it take before you take action?

That’s just one of the dangers of taking the all too common over-the-counter pain relievers. Numbing your body so you can’t hear its cry for help allows the underlying problem to worsen, lengthening the recovery time.

If you know someone who regularly suppresses their early warning system, will you forward them our newsletter and invite them to check out our website? We’d like to help.

Dr. Kevin Asks some important questions of interest to Vancouver residents - Chiropractor Vancouver Dr. Kevin Asks...

How come medical doctors don't recommend chiropractic?
That's changing. Years of prejudice and bias are giving way to research showing the benefits of chiropractic care. As more and more Vancouver folks seek alternatives to drugs and surgery, more and more medical practitioners are referring their patients to chiropractors.
How could a child benefit from chiropractic?
Regardless of our age, each of us in Vancouver encounters physical, chemical and emotional stresses that exceed our ability to handle. For newborns, it could be the trauma encountered at birth. For toddlers it could be from learning to walk or ride a bike. Many of the problems we chiropractors see in adults are the result of neglected traumas from childhood.
