I know there is so much controversy between chiropractic and medical care, but if it were not for chiropractic I would still be in pain. A car accident left me with constant lower back pain. I tried everything from painkillers to preparing to have surgery. I heard stories from my friends who had surgery and to this day wish they never had it. So I decided to go to a chiropractor before the surgery and I am so thankful that I did. My back pains are gone and I am living my life to the fullest and pain free.
We live our lives through our nervoussystem. In fact, the nervous system is soimportant that the first cells to differentiate (approximately seven hours afterconception) become the brain and spinal cord! The nervous system is the master communication system to all the body systems including the reproductive system. Chiropractic care prior to conception promotes a more regular menstrual cycle and optimal uterine function. It prepares a woman’s body to be strong, supple and as balanced as possible to carry the pregnancy. It is especially important during pregnancy that nerve impulses flow from the brain to all parts of the body. A slightly out-of-place vertebra can create nerve irritation (what we call subluxation) that snarls the body’s communication system and can alter communication to the developing fetus. In addition to addressing spinal subluxations another reason to obtain chiropractic care during pregnancy is to establish pelvic balance and alignment. The pelvis cradles the baby and when it is misaligned it may reduce the amount of room available for the developing baby. This restriction (called intrauterine constraint) can make it difficult for the developing baby to get into the proper position for delivery. Using gentle adjustments chiropractors can relieve this nerve irritation, allowing the body’s energy to flow freely again and facilitate healing through nature’s own healing power! We use special, modified techniques during your pregnancy to make your spinal adjustments gentle and comfortable. At Quantum Chiropractic we employ two special techniques when adjusting pregnant women. The first technique called Webster’s Technique, helps to correct sacral misalignment, balance pelvic muscles and ligaments, which removes torsion to the woman’s uterus and its resulting constraint to the developing baby. The second technique calledBagnell Technique, helps to correct pubic bone misalignment and removes corresponding round ligament spasm. Both of these techniques remove constraint to the uterus and in turn allows the baby to move freely within the womb and get into the best possible position for birth. Making the birthing process easier and less traumatic for both the mother and baby.
